Why does the message "this phone number is already associated with another account" appear when I try to log in/create a new account?

If you have another account with a different email address but the same entered phone number, the system will not allow you to create another account with the same phone number or modify it. You can recover your old account by clicking on "Yes, I want to recover the password of the old account" and enter the email or phone number from the old account to reset the password.
